Welcome to my blog!  As the title suggests, this is a space created by a self-proclaimed lazy bum living in the Shonan area—a stretch of land along the coast of Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture, near Tokyo.

For those unfamiliar with Shonan, it has a wonderful reputation among many Japanese for its warm weather, beautiful beaches, and a laid-back, trendy lifestyle that’s perfect for surfing and relaxing.  However, after more than a decade of living here, I can confidently say that this isn’t quite the lifestyle I can afford!

That said, I’ve decided it’s time to shake things up a bit and explore ways to improve my life.  I’ll be sharing some thoughts and experiences that I hope you’ll find somewhat interesting.
