The Foundation of Peace (平和の礎) Monument in Chigasaki Park (茅ヶ崎公園)

The Foundation of Peace (平和の礎) is a monument located in Chigasaki Park (茅ヶ崎公園).  This memorial honors the 1,190 citizens of Chigasaki who lost their lives in war and was erected in March 2008 to replace an older memorial that had deteriorated over time.

According to the city office, the monument is illuminated every night from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM so went to the site around 7:40 PM and got this:
