Himuro Setsugekka (氷室雪月花)

Located in a residential area near Chigasaki Beach, the Himuro Camellia Garden (氷室椿庭園) is just a 15-minute walk from Chigasaki Station.  Originally the residence of Shoji Himuro, the former vice president of Mitsui Fudosan, the garden opened to the public in October 1991 after being donated to the city of Chigasaki.

Covering roughly 2,800 square meters, the garden features about 1,300 camellia and pine trees, including 250 varieties of camellias.  Among them is the Himuro Setsugekka (氷室雪月花), known for its red sprayed pattern on a white or pink base.

The former Himuro residence, located on the northwest side of the garden, is recognized as a cultural property by the Japanese government.

February to April:  9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
May to January:  10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Closed on Mondays and from December 29 to January 3
